Xeus-Haskell: Interactive Haskell Computing in the Browser
Xeus-Haskell is a browser-native Jupyter kernel that brings interactive Haskell programming to JupyterLite deployments through WebAssembly. It lets users run executable Haskell notebooks from statically hosted web content, without a backend Haskell runtime. The system integrates xeus, the Jupyter kernel protocol, a C++ bridge, and a compact MicroHs-based runtime suitable for client-side execution. It also supports rich output: Haskell values can render HTML, LaTeX, and Markdown content inside notebook cells. This demonstration presents the architecture, notebook persistence model, MIME rendering support, current capabilities, and runtime behavior of a zero-server-setup Haskell notebook system, showing how xeus, WebAssembly, and a compact Haskell runtime can make Haskell notebooks runnable without server-side Haskell infrastructure.
